Care Campaign for the Vulnerable is learning of the pressures faced by conscientious led Care Providers striving to offer a caring and safe environment to both service users and staff. Safety monitoring is proving to be a invaluable care assist tool - bringing a more open and transparent culture into care homes as well as saving valuable resources within the care home sector and the NHS
Great grandchildren Jaxson, Carter and Brooklyn sent Care Campaign for the Vulnerable their Christmas list with a heartbreaking message ''the only present we want from Santa is to hug our great -grandma''. The heartbreaking request is not for traditional toys or playstations but only to hug their doting loved one for the first time in over eight months. Families are contacting us saying grandchildren are heartbroken Christmas may not see all families reunited due to government guidance on over 65's not allowed to visit outside care homes.
Mum Katie, with her three children Jaxson, Carter and new arrival Brooklyn - who only want to hug their great- grandma in a care home this Christmas
''We just want to hug our great -grandma for Christmas and want her to see baby Brooklyn'.' Jaxson aged 8''
''I haven't seen my mother since 09th March. The home advised me that they wouldn't be allowing any more window visits. I asked why and it was said ''Government guidelines''. The home is a good care home and I don't blame management only the Government. Stopping all contact is wrong and brings on a decline in an elderly person's emotional and physical well being and undue distress to families. My mother has recently become a great-great grandmother and still hasn't seen her two new great grandsons. All the photos of our family and our elderly mother is not in any of them. Its so wrong. We pray we can visit her at Christmas''. Christine, (Katie's Aunt)
