Care Campaign for the Vulnerable will be heading to Westminister on the 5th September 2018 to hear the long-awaited debate on Care Campaign ‘s safety monitoring in communal areas in all care homes to now be made LAW. Our Founder Jayne has sought the support from her local MP Dominic Grieve former Attorney General for over four years and offering up evidence on poor care and why the U.K. care system needs more openness and transparency for both vulnerable residents and care workers. Jayne said ahead of the visit to Parliament ‘’ Care Campaign for the Vulnerable was set up after my own mother was failed in her first care home. Over a period of time CCFTV has grown to over many tens of thousands of supporters. Safety monitoring in the care sector, environments that vulnerable elderly and their carers live and work should be better protected with better transparency. It really is a no brainer''.

The care sector has incredible care homes, care providers and care staff but what we mustn’t do is then believe it’s OK to forget about parts of the sector that is failing and many homes ARE continually failing. CCFTV is contacted every day by families and care staff reporting care concerns and while many carers tell us they are understaffed and under-supported we speak also to families who tell us the same. Safety monitoring is to safeguard EVERYONE and should stop the scaremongering that is sometimes associated with safety monitoring in care homes and lets start embracing it.
Dominic Grieve MP attends our Network Meeting discussing safety in elderly care
Today’s modern technology does not infringe on privacy or dignity. CCTV would identify falls, accidents (preventable and non-preventable) Poor practices would be identified in these communal areas and therefore solutions could be sought with an absolute peace of mind for families. Transparency in care and we need to dispel the many myths surrounding safety monitoring.
DOMINIC GRIEVE MP AFTER THE WESTMINSTER DABATE ON CCFTV SAFETY MONITORING IN CALL UK CARE HOMES
''Safety monitoring does not and should not replace good care. It is only a ‘care assist ‘ tool and a invaluable one. This technology should be incorporated with other good care practices in care homes''.
