Care Campaign for the Vulnerable is learning of the pressures faced by conscientious led Care Providers striving to offer a caring and safe environment to both service users and staff. Safety monitoring is proving to be a invaluable care assist tool - bringing a more open and transparent culture into care homes as well as saving valuable resources within the care home sector and the NHS
I would not recommend this nursing home for patients who are under the Court of Protection (lack capacity) do not have several family members to visit , part funded by a local authority or have serious illness that requires vigilant RGN nursing care. My family member was in this home and suffered Multiple Sclerosis and mental illness. The home was not registered not to look after patients with mental illness/complex mental health as they do not have appropriately trained staff . I would also not put a patient in this home if they suffered dementia. My sister died of undiagnosed cancer and was in extreme pain. She lost a kidney I think due to dehydration as she required feeding and fluid. She was not able to ask for food or drink. Most of the care was given by care assistants who spoke English as second language. They were not trained. This nursing home is privately run by a family and has contract with LA.
"The evidence from Providers who have installed CCTV seems to me to merit careful attention and to be quite persuasive"
