Care Campaign for the Vulnerable is learning of the pressures faced by conscientious led Care Providers striving to offer a caring and safe environment to both service users and staff. Safety monitoring is proving to be a invaluable care assist tool - bringing a more open and transparent culture into care homes as well as saving valuable resources within the care home sector and the NHS
Care Campaign for the Vulnerable in September 2021 called for an urgent review on the mandatory vaccinations for care staff after seeing first-hand the pressure care homes were under after losing long-serving members of staff after the deadline passed to get the Covid vaccination or result in losing their job. Families and care workers contacted CCFTV reporting a worrying lack of staff in care homes with family members undertaking care roles as ECG or when visiting.
CCFTV Director Jayne Connery spoke out on GB NEWS on Tuesday Evening's Dan Wootton Show on the Government's U-turn on COVID vaccinations to care staff with NHS workers, families and care staff saying they find it hard to accept a politician stating the “mandatory vaccine introduction was the right decision at the time and will make no apologies on behalf of the government”.
This was said even though the care sector lost 40,000 care staff which placed even further strain on a care sector already on its knees and worse still stated with typical ‘true to form’ disregard to the thousands of vulnerable elderly living in care homes reliant on good care staff and failed because of the staffing crisis contributed by the introduction of mandatory vaccinations.
CCFTV is supporting families affected by the care home staffing crisis which is resulting in many contemplating bringing loved ones back home to be cared for. One daughter CCFTV is offering support to, said '' My mother is 94 years old diagnosed with Alzheimer's and living in a care home that is not meeting her needs and safeguards have been raised. I am at retirement age and as ECG I am visiting her every day and having to oversee her care. It's such enormous pressure, especially when you place your loved one in a care home and pay to receive the right level of good, safe care. The issue with poor staffing levels is evidently because of the mandatory vaccinations because good staff are leaving but we shouldn't forget this has only exacerbated a staffing problem many care homes over the years previously experienced. The vulnerable elderly in many care homes are put at risk. ''
Your kind donation will help CCFTV support even more families in care.
