Care Campaign for the Vulnerable is learning of the pressures faced by conscientious led Care Providers striving to offer a caring and safe environment to both service users and staff. Safety monitoring is proving to be a invaluable care assist tool - bringing a more open and transparent culture into care homes as well as saving valuable resources within the care home sector and the NHS
CCFTV has consistently opined that during the pandemic, government elected to vacate hospital beds knowing that older patients discharged to care homes without testing, could possibly infect those already living in that facility.
That remains our position regardless of Mr Hancock's protestations that a ‘ring of steel’ was placed around the care sector. His so called diaries are not evidence, but likely his take on events that are scripted to show him in the best possible light. It remains very concerning to CCFTV that this former minister can continue to monetise his involvement in Government at a time when many thousands of care home deaths occurred under his watch.
His attempts to blame staff, relatives and others for the rampant spread of Covid in care homes, completely fails to acknowledge his personal responsibility in pursuing a collective Government strategy of active discharge to that sector. Government wanted to protect the NHS, a point that was made each and very night at the Covid update announcement. The price of such was not to protect the social care sector. Mr Hancock didn’t care about the risk to those elderly vulnerable people already living in care homes and he clearly doesn’t care now about their grieving families.
Your kind donation will help CCFTV support even more families in care.
