Care Campaign for the Vulnerable is learning of the pressures faced by conscientious led Care Providers striving to offer a caring and safe environment to both service users and staff. Safety monitoring is proving to be a invaluable care assist tool - bringing a more open and transparent culture into care homes as well as saving valuable resources within the care home sector and the NHS
Care Campaign for the Vulnerable (CCFTV) hosted our 'What Needs Changing in Social Care?' Roundtable on Wednesday 19th July 2023, at the Slater and Gordon Lawyers Head Office, in London.
We were delighted to welcome to our Roundtable, Richard Scorer, Head of Abuse Law and Public Inquiries, Slater and Gordon, Nadra Ahmed CBE, National Care Association, Louis Holmes, Care England, Ron Brown, HSN Care and Director of Social Care Partners Ltd, Simon Taskis and Andrew Geach, Shedfield Lodge Care Home, Trudi Scrivener MD, Ashridge Home Care, Viv Rowe, Operation’s Director Signature Senior Living Care Group.
CCFTV Director, Jayne Connery hosted the Roundtable discussion that brought emotive and passionate discussions from our attendees on important and current care topics, including, is the support to the Care Sector by the Government fair, compared to the NHS. Do we need a care workers register, is it time for mandatory cameras in care homes and what lessons should we learn from the Covid-19 Public Inquiry?
Jayne Connery Director of CCFTV "Our events always attract such emotive discussions on current and important care topics. Our attendees have a wealth of knowledge and expertise within the sector. CCFTV proving yet again, that even though we are leading the conversation on what changes need to happen in care, we want to work together with the sector to implement this positive change."
Richard Scorer – Head of Abuse Law and Public Inquiries at Slater and Gordon
“Slater and Gordon has supported CCFTV for a number of years and the opportunity to host a roundtable on such an important subject further strengthens our relationship. This is a topic that needs to be discussed more and we hope the findings of the roundtable will instigate further conversations amongst those impacted and most importantly, those with the power to conduct change. I would like to say thank you to all of the contributors for their expert insight and look forward to the release of the recording of the event .”
Our Roundtable was filmed by Ben Stevens at Slater and Gordon and will be placed out on our social media forums and website to view soon. CCFTV would like to express our thanks and appreciation to our Sponsor Slater and Gordon Lawyers and all our attendees.
"The evidence from Providers who have installed CCTV seems to me to merit careful attention and to be quite persuasive"
