Care Campaign for the Vulnerable is learning of the pressures faced by conscientious led Care Providers striving to offer a caring and safe environment to both service users and staff. Safety monitoring is proving to be a invaluable care assist tool - bringing a more open and transparent culture into care homes as well as saving valuable resources within the care home sector and the NHS
In a significant development, Care Campaign for the Vulnerable (CCFTV) announces a strategic shift starting in January 2025. After a thoughtful decision-making process spanning the past couple of years, CCFTV founded by Jayne Connery is set to cease its direct support for families, redirecting its energies toward a more focused endeavour.
The roots of CCFTV trace back a decade, beginning with a personal and poignant experience. The journey commenced when Jayne’s own mother faced negative experiences in a care home. Driven by a determination to prevent such situations from befalling others, CCFTV was born with an initial focus on promoting independent safety monitoring in care homes. During our work families came to us seeking support after dealing with the challenges in a loved one’s care.
Over the years, the organisation has evolved, and so has its understanding of the most impactful ways to address the issues within the realm of care provision. After a decade of hard work, resource allocation, and an emotional toll, CCFTV is now “upping the ante” on its commitment to safety monitoring.
The decision to cease direct support to families is not taken lightly. Instead, it is a strategic pivot reflecting our core mission—to champion the implementation of independent safety monitoring in dementia communities and all care homes across the UK.
This shift emphasises the crucial role that transparency plays in ensuring the well-being of vulnerable individuals and their carers. The primary focus now is to place cameras in care homes, providing families with the transparency and protection they rightfully deserve for their loved ones and the dedicated caregivers.
In a message to the supporters, Jayne expresses deep gratitude for their unwavering commitment and contributions over the years. The decision to concentrate solely on safety monitoring in care homes is not only a reflection of the challenges faced but also a testament to the dedication to making a positive impact in the care provision landscape.
The announcement marks a new chapter for CCFTV, one that underscores the organisation’s resilience, adaptability, and commitment to creating safer environments for those in need. As we step into this new phase, the vision remains clear—to work hard for a future where every individual in a care setting can experience transparency, protection, and the dignity they deserve.
In the spirit of collective progress, CCFTV invites continued support as it forges ahead on this mission to reshape the landscape of care provision, ensuring the well-being and security of the vulnerable among us.
