Our Director’s Journey of Compassion and Discovery with Care Campaign for the Vulnerable

19th February 2024

In the realm of safety in dementia care advocacy, few stories are as inspiring and impactful as that of our Director Jayne Connery's journey with Care Campaign for the Vulnerable (CCFTV). A leading voice for vulnerable individuals and their carers, Jayne's path is a testament to the power of compassion, resilience, and the unwavering commitment to make a difference in the lives of individuals living with dementia.

CCFTV began as a personal quest fuelled by a deep sense of empathy and a desire to bring about positive change in the care sector. Witnessing the challenges faced by individuals living with dementia and their families firsthand, Jayne felt compelled to take action. What started as a grassroots initiative soon blossomed into a nationwide movement, as Jayne tirelessly advocated for greater transparency, accountability, and person-centered care within the care sector.

Jayne encountered countless individuals and organisations dedicated to improving the lives of those affected by dementia. From care staff and healthcare professionals to policymakers and advocacy groups, Jayne found inspiration in the tireless efforts of others to create a more compassionate and supportive environment for individuals living with dementia and their carers

One of the most profound lessons Jayne learned along her journey was the power of positivity and resilience in the face of adversity. Despite the many challenges and obstacles she encountered along the way, Jayne remained steadfast in her commitment to advocating responsibly for the rights and well-being of vulnerable individuals. Her unwavering optimism and determination served as a beacon of hope for countless families and carers navigating the complex landscape of dementia care.

Moreover, setting up CCFTV opened her eyes to the incredible potential for innovation and collaboration within the care sector. She witnessed firsthand the transformative impact of independent safety monitoring technology, research, and community partnerships in enhancing the quality of life for older people living with dementia and their carers. From innovative care models to groundbreaking research initiatives, Jayne saw firsthand the positive changes taking place within the sector and became increasingly passionate about learning more about dementia and its impact on individuals and communities.

CCFTV is a testament to the profound impact that one individual can have in creating positive change within the care sector. Through her unwavering dedication, compassion, and resilience, Jayne has become a beacon of hope for countless individuals affected by dementia and their families . Her journey serves as a reminder that, even in the face of immense challenges, there is always room for optimism, growth, and transformation.

As Jayne continues her journey with CCFTV, she remains committed to advocating for the rights and well-being of vulnerable individuals and their carers. With each step forward, she brings us closer to a future where compassion, dignity, and respect are the cornerstones of dementia care, and where every individual is valued, supported, and empowered to live their best life possible.
