Care Campaign for the Vulnerable is learning of the pressures faced by conscientious led Care Providers striving to offer a caring and safe environment to both service users and staff. Safety monitoring is proving to be a invaluable care assist tool - bringing a more open and transparent culture into care homes as well as saving valuable resources within the care home sector and the NHS
In the ever-evolving world of healthcare, where the well-being of vulnerable people and their carers remains a top priority, advocacy organisations play a crucial role in shaping policies and practices that promote safety and dignity. Care Campaign for the Vulnerable (CCFTV), a national non-profit, organisation dedicated to ensuring safety and greater transparency in care, recently had the privilege of attending the prestigious Care England conference in London —an event that underscored the importance of collaboration, innovation, and advocacy in the care sector.
Starting the conference, Professor Martin Green OBE, spoke candidly on how vital it is to engage with politicians at both national and local levels to emphasise the significance of social care. By highlighting how social care positively transforms lives and contributes to local economies, we underscore its essential role in our society. Additionally, he also touched on how crucial it is to remind policymakers that an effective healthcare system relies on a robust social care system.
Furthermore, the CEO of Care England spoke passionately regarding the advocating for a fair allocation of funding for both health and social care is essential to ensure the sustainability and effectiveness of both sectors. “By working together and prioritising social care alongside healthcare, we can create a more equitable and supportive system that meets the needs of all individuals in our communities.”
For Care Campaign for the Vulnerable the opportunity to attend the Care England 2024 Conference and Exhibition event was not merely a chance to network and listen to inspiring speakers - it was a platform to amplify our dedication and continue advocating for meaningful change. As an organisation committed to supporting families and care staff, CCFTV are leading the conversation on the need for independent safety monitoring in UK care settings and our presence at the conference was emblematic of our unwavering dedication to ensuring the well-being of vulnerable individuals receiving care.
CCFTV also had the opportunity to engage with key stakeholders, including care providers, policymakers, industry experts, and fellow advocates. Through panel discussions, workshops, and networking sessions, we were able to exchange ideas, and foster collaborations aimed at advancing safety monitoring practices in the care sector.
One of the highlights was the opportunity to connect with care providers who shared our vision for transparency, accountability, and dignity in care. These meaningful conversations underscored the importance of forging partnerships and working collaboratively to address the complex challenges facing the care sector.
Moreover, our presence allowed us to gain valuable insights into emerging trends, best practices, and innovative solutions in elderly care. From discussions on person-centered care to advancements in technology-enabled monitoring systems, the conference provided a wealth of knowledge and inspiration that will inform our advocacy efforts moving forward.
CCFTV recognises the profound impact that our advocacy can have on the lives of vulnerable individuals and their families. By participating in events like the Care England conference, we reaffirm our commitment to support the care industry championing change and continue to amplify the voices of those who rely on care services and advocating for policies and practices that prioritise their safety, dignity, and well-being. It’s a testament to CCFTV's enduring commitment to advocating for safety monitoring in care and championing the rights of vulnerable individuals to receive care that is consistently compassionate, dignified, and safe.
CCFTV would like to thank Professor Martin Green OBE, and everyone at Care England for a truly inspiring and informative event.
