Care Campaign for the Vulnerable is learning of the pressures faced by conscientious led Care Providers striving to offer a caring and safe environment to both service users and staff. Safety monitoring is proving to be a invaluable care assist tool - bringing a more open and transparent culture into care homes as well as saving valuable resources within the care home sector and the NHS
THANK YOU FOR ANOTHER INCREDIBLE YEAR
This year Care Campaign for the Vulnerable organised a Government petition to bring CCTV into ALL communal areas of care/nursing homes to be made mandatory. The thousands who supported us resulted in our Founder Jayne Connery handing in those signatures to 10 Downing Street. This year, the charity Alzheimer’s UK BRACE invited Jayne Connery on to their guest panel at their yearly conference in Bristol and she spoke about safeguarding the Vulnerable in care/nursing homes. Our important cause is digging deep into the conscience of those who matter.
We scailed tall buildings, walked a memory walk and stood on a wing of a plane all to raise awareness to our safety in elder care organisation. We not only raised thousands for dementia charities but raised important awareness to CCTV in care homes.
This year Care Campaign for the Vulnerable has raised much national awareness to better safety to our vulnerable in care homes as well as our dedicated care workers. CCFTV appeared on Sky News, Good Morning Britain, BBC London and had a front-page lead in The Daily Express as well as much local press /radio coverage.
Five years ago , when we approached care homes to ask their views on safety monitoring in care homes doors were closed and phones placed down. This year we have had care homes approach CCFTV wanting to be part of the important work we do and by doing so we were asked into many care homes, including Manor House Care Home in Cambridge and Hollywood Care Home in Birmingham with many further visits planned.
Care Campaign for the Vulnerable would like to give a huge thank you to all the care providers who invited us in and to all our amazing supporters.
"The evidence from Providers who have installed CCTV seems to me to merit careful attention and to be quite persuasive"
