 Care Campaign For The Vulnerable

Care Campaign was started over five years ago to champion safety monitoring in all public areas in dementia/care homes to become mandatory. Our vulnerable elderly deserve to be safeguarded and their carers. This is not just someone else's problem. If you have any intention of growing old, then it concerns you too

Care Campaign's meeting with CarersBUCKS

6th March 2018

Sandy Briscoe of the Charity CarersBUCKS www.carersbucks.org and Jayne Connery Founder and Director of Care Campaign for the Vulnerable met today and discussed the importance of carers of all ages and in different caring roles, including young carers, parents of children with a physical or mental disability, older carers as well as carers from ethnic minorities.

All carers contacting CareBUCKS are able to speak to a experienced support worker in confidence over the telephone or in person. Care Campaigns is proud to support such a great and valuable charity. Jayne said, ' The work we do at CCAS (Care Campaign Advocacy Service) is to offer help to carers who contact us working in Care Homes or in Home Care and effected by inadequate care standards. Our Advocates understands how this can put a huge strain mentally and emotionally on good carers who maybe are not supported by Senior Management. CarersBUCKS helps Carers who are unpaid and look after a relative and can often be vulnerable themselves. The responsible role they undertake is often not thought about by their local community. I know how hard and emotional a carer's role is and I have much support to enable me to work and to socialise. It's heartbreaking to think these carers, especially the young, do not have the oportunity to live their own lives and in many cases can suffer depression or isolation. Supporting this cause I am passionate about and I will ensure at every opportunity through Care Campaign, I will rally support to raise their profile and the valuable work they do.''

Nominate a carer you think deserves to be Care Campaign for the Vulnerable Outstanding Carer 2018.
