CCFTV NETWORK MEETING - KARIN FLOWER A FAMILY IN CARE, TALKS ABOUT THE DEVESTATING IMPACT DEMENTIA CAN BRING TO A FAMILY

''HAVING A PLATFORM LIKE THIS ONE THAT CCFTV HAS BROUGHT US IS INVALUABLE. WE ARE NOT DISCUSSING THE ISSUES IN A CARE HOME NOR IN A FORMAL ENVIRONMENT. FAMILIES AND PROFESSIOANLS IN CARE CAN OPENLY DISCUSS AND REALLY GET TO UNDERSTAND THE ISSUES WE ARE ALL FACED WITH IN CARE''. Karin Flower

Care Campaign for the Vulnerable hosted a informal get together discussing how families matter in care. We invited care professionals and family members and care professionals. Our monthly events bring a unique opportunity to discuss worries many relatives face when loved ones are in care.

CCFTV's first meeting last month was such a huge success that CCFTV decided to host another one. We sat and discussed openly care and the many problems and worries facing families in the sector. People really opened up and spoke telling us it really helped to talk in a informal environment. Care professionals that attended were CEO, nurses and carers receiving a unique insight to families affected by loved ones troubled by care standards and relatives learned about professionals in their role. Families do matter in the care of loved ones and many need to talk about the anxieties and worries. CCFTV event was so helpful allowing both families and care professionals the platform to speak up. Our monthly meetings will be held at the Crowne Plaza hotel in Gerrards Cross Buckinghamshire starting at 1030am until 1230pm with complimentary coffee and snacks. There is limited space so if you would like to attend, please e mail at ccftv.care@gmail.com
