Care Campaign for the Vulnerable invited onto the CQC's Technology Roundtable

2nd May 2018

CCFTV INVITED TO A CQC TECHNOLOGY ROUNDTABLE 2nd MAY 2018

Our Founder Care Campaign for the Vulnerable Jayne Connery was invited by Andrea Sutcliffe CBE, Head of Adult Social Care CQC, to attend their Roundtable on Technology in Care. The event was held at the Chesterfield Hotel in Mayfair attended by many 'experts by experience' and collegues from across the health and social care sector, all discussing how technology in care can make lives better, discussing regulation and new tecnhology. The group discussions touched on how technology improves CQC inspections as well as a discussion with WCS Care, Ed Russell evidencing the value of technology and the great work that is taking place. The day also included discussions on how the use of technology in care has developed since the publication of 'using surveilance', technology impacts the work the CQC is doing now and what the CQC will need to do in the future, as well as to expore different views from across the sectors.

Jayne said ' Attending this Roundtable on behalf of Care Campaign for the Vulnerable was extremely informative and meeting so many professionals and experts from both social and health care sectors. Technology in care IS a positive and it was interesting to discuss what areas of technology in care do we need to consider as well as how will we know when it is 'good' . The roundtable was a valuable insight understanding the CQC's role and to represent the many famlies that contact Care Campaign for the Vulnerable telling us how transparency in care is a positive with those who are most vulnerable needing safeguarding along with their carers.
