CARE CAMPAIGN FOR THE VULNERABLE IN THE PRESS
EXPRESS NEWSPAPER 18th May 2018
''The time is right''
Dominic Grieve MP on going into Parliament on behalf of Care Campaign for the Vulnerable
Care Camapign for the Vulnerable Founder Jayne Connery met up with Dominic Grieve MP over a period of eight months to ask for support to make mandatory safety monitoring in public areas of care homes. The former Attorney General has now agreed 'the time is right' to throw his support behind Care Campaign for the Vulnerable. We are grateful to supporters who agreed to tell their distressing stories regarding poor care to the Express. Jayne said '' While this is very positive, our supporters are the ones who got us here, compared to their experiences, my family went through very little. I still have my mum at home living with me and doing incredibly well. The heartbreaking stories I hear daily through Care Campaign advocacy service is truly shocking and no family should ever have to come away from being told their loved one has suffered an accident - then receiving no answers to when, why or how? Safety monitoring is a serious deal now and the more we get the public behind it, the more chance we have of making it happen. Dominic Grieve MP has agreed to submit our question in Parliament- that's a very big step. I want to thank everyone on behalf of Care Campaign for the Vulnerable who rallied support to us - this drives us harder to do the very best we can to keep on raising awareness and working to help support families and family carers effected by inadequate care.''
"The evidence from Providers who have installed CCTV seems to me to merit careful attention and to be quite persuasive"
