Care Campaign for the Vulnerable is learning of the pressures faced by conscientious led Care Providers striving to offer a caring and safe environment to both service users and staff. Safety monitoring is proving to be a invaluable care assist tool - bringing a more open and transparent culture into care homes as well as saving valuable resources within the care home sector and the NHS
Care Campaign for the Vulnerable has been inundated with messages of support since we appeared leading the news in the Express newspaper on Friday 16th May 2018. Supporters contacted us to offer their delight Dominic Grieve MP has now agreed ‘time is right' to push for safety monitorig in public areas in all care homes to debate in parliament and hopefully become law. Jayne said ' Our hard work of six years rallying support and working with care providers, attending conferences and gaining thousands of peoples' support on social media is making a difference and we won't stop. Of course we have a long way to go still, but instead of small steps we have taken a much bigger stride and that's just incredible. Everyone who contacts us is saying ‘about time' our elderly, especially the vulnerable, need to be safeguarded along with their carers. The heartbreaking stories and people’s negative experiences in care homes and in care in general is taking its toll on too many families. Safety monitoring in public areas would pick up and identify and bring in quicker solutions to accidents that can happen in care homes with residents. It would aid in training of care staff too. This is such a positive and must be viewed as such. Families of our vulnerable in care deserve to have this peace of mind ,vulnerable elderly deserve to live well and without unnecessary falls that in many cases can bring on a serious decline in health, resulting in fatalities in many tragic cases. Safety montioring can only be a extra care tool, not to replace good care or bring staff /service providers complacency. To gain my local MP Dominic Grieve's full support, along with other influential MP's is just amazing and we continue to work hard to now make this law’’.
"The evidence from Providers who have installed CCTV seems to me to merit careful attention and to be quite persuasive"
