Care Campaign was started over five years ago to champion safety monitoring in all public areas in dementia/care homes to become mandatory. Our vulnerable elderly deserve to be safeguarded and their carers. This is not just someone else's problem. If you have any intention of growing old, then it concerns you tooJayne Connery
Care Campaign Director Jayne Connery received a invitation to visit Glenholm Care home in Sunderland. The invite follows the care proviiders installation of CCTV safety monitoring in both communal areas AND bedrooms. Rachel Beckett Managing Director of Wellburn Care Homes contacted Jayne some time ago to seek advise and to offer support to Care Campaign’s CCTV in care homes initiative. Jayne said ''It was good to speak to Rachel ahead of my visit. We chatted about the many aspects of tansparency in care and the benefts CCTV brings to all who live and work in care homes. Hearing from Care Providers who embrace CCTV is certainly becoming more frequent and I commend care homes that have the foresight and integrity to see transparency as a positive when caring for our most vulnerable. I am looking forward to my visit and having the opportunity to talk to staff and residents.''
British Actress Aimi Macdonald is Care Campaign for the Vulnerable Ambassador - raising public awareness for better, safer, transparent care within the care sector.
I am delighted to be invited as a Ambassador to assist in this wonderful campaign instigated by Jayne Connery regarding CCTV security in care homes throughout the UK. This, I feel, will benefit carers, staff, residents and their families in the event of any dispute. As a relative of someone suffering with Alzheimers disease I have been involved with care homes over the last ten years and I feel the knowledge I have can contribute to this very important initiative
Adventure with Dementia provide values-based learning, development and improvement programmes which include life elements relevant to us all irrespective of a diagnosis of disease or disability. Our approach is that of doing 'with' people and not doing 'for' them thus creating family style daily living which is occupied, meaningful and fulfilled while also challenging the stereotypes of a carers role to empower them to do things differently: pledging to make a difference.Visit Website
