A chance meeting at The Care Show in Birmingham between Care Campaign for the Vulnerable Founder Jayne Connery and Richard Macintyre Director of Quality Innoation of Friends of the Elderly Charity, www.fote.co.uk has now led Jayne to become a member of the Charity's, Safeguarding Adults Sub Committee. Jayne said on accepting the appointment ''It was a chance meeeting at the Care Show - on behalf of Care Campaign for the Vulnerable I was asked to give a talk. I met Richard Macintyre and spoke in length about the safeguarding of our most vulnerable in care homes. It was after this talk, he mentioned would I be interested in joining the Charity's Safeguarding Sub Committee. I was taken aback by the offer but he advised his recommendation had to get past the Trustees of the Charity. I received confirmation I had been accepted. I feel very honoured and really hope i can really make a difference. The safeguarding of our elderly is my one passion and would like to thank Richard for putting me forward and to the Trustees for accepting me.''
British Actress Aimi Macdonald is Care Campaign for the Vulnerable Ambassador - raising public awareness for better, safer, transparent care within the care sector.
I am delighted to be invited as a Ambassador to assist in this wonderful campaign instigated by Jayne Connery regarding CCTV security in care homes throughout the UK. This, I feel, will benefit carers, staff, residents and their families in the event of any dispute. As a relative of someone suffering with Alzheimers disease I have been involved with care homes over the last ten years and I feel the knowledge I have can contribute to this very important initiative
