Care Campaign For The Vulnerable comments in the Daily Express today on the continual delay in the change in laws to protect our elderly targeted by crime and are being failed by the system. The same stringent laws enforced on those who commit crimes against people’s race - receiving longer jail terms - should be also enforced to our elderly in society - many targeted because of their frailty and vulnerability - read here :-https://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/1164052/pensioners-crime-targets-law-changes-crime-sentences
OUR STATEMENT
Care Campaign For The Vulnerable continually states countless times that little or no value is ascribed to elderly vulnerable people. The contribution that they formerly made to society in years gone is routinely forgotten and nothing confirms that view more than the repeated delay as to the determination of whether or not elder abuse is a hate crime. It's self evident that older vulnerable people are often abused because they are an easy target, completely unable to defend themselves and usually at the mercy of someone they hold or could reasonably expect to hold in a position of trust. It's an absolute stain on our society that elderly people should be left for a moment longer without the very necessary legal protection.

British Actress Aimi Macdonald is Care Campaign for the Vulnerable Ambassador - raising public awareness for better, safer, transparent care within the care sector.
I am delighted to be invited as a Ambassador to assist in this wonderful campaign instigated by Jayne Connery regarding CCTV security in care homes throughout the UK. This, I feel, will benefit carers, staff, residents and their families in the event of any dispute. As a relative of someone suffering with Alzheimers disease I have been involved with care homes over the last ten years and I feel the knowledge I have can contribute to this very important initiative
