Care Campaign for the Vulnerable (CCFTV) was established a decade ago by Jayne Connery, a former promotions and airline professional residing in Buckinghamshire. Recognising the critical need for increased transparency in caring for vulnerable individuals with dementia, Jayne, driven by personal experience, transitioned to a carer role and initiated a dementia support group for families.
Today, CCFTV stands as an independent, national, not-for-profit organisation dedicated to safety in dementia care. Collaborating with the care sector, our mission is to advocate for and promote the implementation of independently monitored camera systems in communal areas and private rooms with consent/best interest decisions across all UK care homes, with a particular focus on communities catering to the elderly with dementia.
CCFTV's impactful work attracts families and care workers seeking guidance and assistance. As the sole safety monitoring organisation offering direct practical support, we actively engage with commissioning groups, safeguard teams, social workers, NHS complex cases, and multidisciplinary teams to facilitate positive outcomes. Our involvement extends to supporting families reporting unjust evictions, neglect, and serious, unexplained injuries affecting elderly loved ones in care.
Our Founder, Jayne Connery, is frequently invited by care providers to discuss the manifold benefits of safety monitoring for residents and staff alike. Serving as a keynote speaker on safety in dementia care, Jayne participates in care shows and health exhibitions, becoming a prominent commentator on elderly dementia care and social care issues on national TV and news media. WHAT WE DO...CCFTV is proud to work with the care sector to influence the use of safety monitoring in communal areas in dementia care homes
We are passionate about working with care industry professionals to champion better transparency, safety and care, particularly for the elderly with dementia. CCFTV attracts national media, commentating on elderly social care issues and gaining tens of thousands of supporters - leading an influential initiative for the use of safety monitoring in all U.K. care environments. We give our services FREE OF CHARGE. CCFTV spent five years collating and submitting evidential documentation for the use of safety monitoring in care homes after our founder’s mother suffered a negative care experience and often witnessed care workers have fingers of blame pointing at them after unwitnessed injuries to vulnerable residents occurred. The evidence sought - NHS and care home cost savings, safeguarding reductions, agency spending reduction, assistance with staff disciplinaries, quality monitoring daily, improved inspection report outcomes - as well as a commercial value too. CCFTV gained support from MP’s taking our safety monitoring in care to Westminster Hall and calling it ''persuasive”.

Our team are a voluntary team of experts in care ranging from CEOs’ Care Providers to Dementia Care trainers. 1. Save the NHS in excess of £195 million a year with the mandatory use of Safety Monitoring in communal areas of Care Homes.
2..Reduce pressure on the NHS & avoid unnecessary 999 calls & Ambulance ‘call outs’, distress to Service Users & their loved ones.
3. Create a culture of open, honest & transparent care, building relationships with families with open lines of communication that negate conflict often leading to evictions.
4. Safety monitoring gives a voice to the most vulnerable in our society, protecting all those who live & work in Care Homes, providing answers that, without Safety Monitoring, would go unanswered.
CCFTV would like to draw attention to the high number of evictions there are in the care home sector. Communications are breaking down between family members and Service Users more and more, often resulting in an eviction leaving family members stressed and the Service user placed often at risk of decline.
We also want compulsory communal safety monitoring in care homes that would assist family members and staff when it comes to unwitnessed falls in communal areas and in turn save the NHS millions of pounds and unnecessary hospital admissions.
Both these subjects need urgent addressing as the high volume of correspondence coming into the Care Campaign for the Vulnerable is escalating and vulnerable elderly are placed at risk.

It was a privilege to be asked by a granddaughter that CCFTV is supporting, to meet her 103-year-old grandmother, Sarah, at her North London care home. Lisa told us "The support and advice CCFTV gave me is really appreciated. It's only right you get to meet my grandmother that you've helped so much by supporting me." Thank you to all the staff for facilitating the visit and it was a pleasure to finally get to meet lovely Sarah. All safety and risk assessments, and Covid tests, was adhered to.

It is absolutely essential that a public enquiry provides answers for many grieving families who believe their loved ones living in care homes were sacrificed in the aim of ’not overwhelming’ the NHS. That view was compounded further, when all relatives were excluded from care home visiting under lockdown rules. Despite their despair and anxiety about a possible decline in standards of care - given care home staff were under severe pressure and often isolating - Government and the Regulator failed to intervene. No insistence that providers adopt safety monitoring systems to ensure third party audit, no appointment of family members as primary carers and in many cases not even a window visit facilitated to bring some comfort to the vulnerable older person.
Unless a public enquiry is progressed, the electorate will know that little or no value is attached to older vulnerable people and that in subsequent periods of severe societal challenge such as a pandemic, older people are simply expendable. Many residents died prematurely and needlessly because not even some basic safeguards were afforded them.
